  1. This extension guards against viruses as soon as your computer starts up. It works like a sentry in the background, alerting you when it detects an infected file or suspects a virus. It either eliminates the virus automatically or gives you the option to repair the file on the spot. When you install Norton AntiVirus, Auto-Protect is already running. Occasionally, you may need to turn Norton Antivirus Auto-Protect off to install software or complete some other job. Note: Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect must be installed for scheduling to work. Older versions of At Ease may conflict with Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect on startup. Norton recommends using the latest version of At Ease (version 3.0.3) to resolve any startup issues.
